appetite for breakfast.
There is no grass or water near-
er to Wyndham than this, so we
will camp here - our first
and last camp -
Friday 8th. Being indisposed
with a slight touch of fever
I rested today, being the first
day for nine weeks in which I
was not on horseback.
Sat 9th. I and Hugh rode to
Wyndham, taking a short cut
we nearly got bogged in a bend
of the King River, from what I
learned in Windham [Wyndham] of the erratic
movements of the steamers, I re-
solved to come with the whole
camp to a deserted well on the
coast side of the town, and
camp there till the boat arrived.
Sunday 10th. Today we
had a splendid plum duff
