After crossing some stony porphy -
ritic ranges, we entered some
splendid country in Block 193,
the grass was three feet high and
very dense, and water plen -
tiful, following
the course of a large creek
we found it entered some precipitous
gorges, cutting through a sandstone
range over which it took us some days
to find a horse route.
On the top was a well grassed
and watered plateau of several
thousand acres. We had two
days hard work with roadmaking, to
form a track down on the
Western side.   We then came
to a river which forms the
Eastern branch of the Regent.
We afterwards as the Blacks
indicated it by that name
