hot, the packs heavy, and the country very rough on the pack horses so about 1 PM we crossed the King river at a gravelly place, and I decided to camp for the day, as Fred was afraid that one of the pack horses would succumb to the heat.
We pitched camp under a shady Boabib tree, and a cabbage box.
Monday 16th A heavy fall of rain, accompanied by the thunder & lightning, deluged the camp last night fortunately we had one of the tents pitched, but the rain beat through it. We managed to keep our fire alright, and when the night cleared we settled down comfortably
Today we travelled about
