which is probably one of the tributaries of the Prince Regent Riv. From observations, I con-cluded we now on the boundary of our pastoral territory. On this side of the Divide I noticed that the timber is much larger and the forest country more open, there more herbage, but the grass is very rank, and the soil still sandy.

  After crossing the  Palm  Creek we proceed about 8 miles and cam-ped by a running brook of clear water. The day was very hot, and most of the journey was through heavy sandy soil, and men and horses were irritated beyond measure by the grass seed so that it was not desirable to go further
