Once the dead body had been removed the Pommies retreated and the camp regained some composure. But this shooting at defenceless people can only be called murder. A few days later there was a judicial investigation into the affair, with countless testimonies, but in the end the Pommy was acquitted and even praised. I have kept a copy of the
newspaper report about the investigation.
