I have to say this prison was a pleasant surprise for all of us, and many a ‘’Thank God, we’re here and no longer in Liverpool’’ escaped our lips. One easily imagines a prison to be something ugly, repulsive, but here everything was clean, freshly whitewashed or painted and accordingly neat. We should be able to bear it and at least we’re safely sheltered. The location is ideal and we can see the sea, watch the surf breaking on the granite rocks that reach into the bay, a constantly changing spectacle.
