Liverpool 20th June 1915. Signed by the committee and by R. Sands, Major.
Thus the strike was terminated! By sticking together we have achieved a satisfactory outcome, even if several issues remain which we will have to solve gradually. The main success lies in the fact that the camp will be represented forthwith by a committee, which should have more clout than an individual.
It was the greatest disgrace that the camp commander had to endure, but it seems to have convinced him that even German prisoners of war are a force to be reckoned with.
The order that we imposed and maintained ourselves worked well and the camp has never looked so clean as in these recent days.
