1 year in prison.
Much laughter on our part, and we were dismissed.
With such ridiculous threats the man tries to intimidate us and boost his authority. Yet, as far as I know, any prisoner of war can escape as often as he likes or sees a chance to do so, and he cannot be shot at unless he doesn’t stop moving at the 3rd challenge. He thus cannot be hit with a dishonouring penalty such as prison just for having tried to escape. Unfortunately, an escape from here, at the end of the world and so far from the next neutral country, makes no sense. The people who run away do so because they want to feel free again for a moment and because they cannot bear anymore an existence behind barbed wire. I don’t think anybody reckons with a definite escape.
