The mutineers of February still seem not all captured because on 4th of July the
government again offers substantial rewards for capture of the mutineers. At Kelantan, there also seems to have been a mutiny by indigenous people at the beginning of June. It seems the English colonial empire is riddled with crises, but most indigenous peoples are not united enough and too lazy, and mostly they’re lacking a strong and determined leader, to stage an uprising with lasting success.
The Strait Times also published an Amendment to the Trading with the Enemies Ordinance. According to this, the Straits Government intends to confiscate all enemy property. Should they act on this, they will sell off my furniture and confiscate my account with Katz. It
would be the basest theft that ever occurred. It means the claims that we overseas Germans can eventually make towards the British Government will be substantial.
