Bowman to those letters & joyfully shall I receive the best that can be hoped for . To attempt any common place offer of consolation is not of my power & if it were ever in it w.d be idle compared with that, which must arise amongst you all, to the high reputation of & the universal esteem & regret w.h all who knew felt for my late dear friend. [indecipherable] I fear an over ardent mind in the pursuit of his profession which always distinguished him & a wish to do honor & credit to those who were interested about him & justice
