fit of apoplexy, & being taken home & put to bed, he was bled by leeches and under the care of Dr. Macmichael, & Sir Tapper who called in Sir H. Halford - I did not hear any thing of it until Saturday Morning; & then I immediately repaired to albany - & altho' all those the medical attendants had expressed hopes of his recovery, I fear the hand of death was on him - In this State, quite speechless & motionless he remained, tho' perfectly sensible & knowing his brother & attendants, until Tuesday the 19.th when ab.t 2 P.M a change as they all thought for the better took place - I called ab.t 5 P.M & Major M
