I neither look for or wish for anything to place me in a state of obligation & dependance.
As I have not been able to get out much I have seen John & the Major but little. The latter called & sat with me in my bed room a while & showed me your letter with the account of your preparations against the Pirate. He also called last Monday (thats) just as I was stepping into the Carriage to leave town for this place, he had time to tell me of an excellent letter he had rec.d from W.m giving most favourable accounts of crops & seasons [indecipherable] to perfection! The Merchants here tell me that the rise in Wool of late will this year make a difference of £50,000 to the Colony.
