My dear Sir,

Having unfortunately missed seeing you at Camden both as I went up to Argyle and returned from it, I had no opportunity of communicating with you respecting Mr. McAlisters' offer, or of informing you in what state found M.r Scotts affairs at "Church Hill."  They were however better than I expected, although the losses of last year were greater than I had imagined. The present Overseer, though I believe not blameless
