brought with same from the Cape, they are as coarse as a bear - You know I always calculate, w.h you do not; but as this is a very well watered country & tho' no rain has fallen since we arrived the streams are running & plentiful, I reckon that ten acres will be required to carry a sheep thro' this year - in N.S.W. you will recollect I calculated 5. as carcase is not the object this will not be of consequence - It is quite clear they cannot grow grain so easily as Fraser says, nor is the land so fine as he talks of small patches on the banks of the River, are good friable loam; but as to comparing it with the soil of Prospect or of Latham on the River it is childish & I wonder how Fraser c.d do so-
