start at 12 oclock and went 11 miles to a creek with fine grass and water, a very oasis in the midst of a stony desert. One of the spare horses Old "Cartridge" knocked up about 3 miles back from the camp. We shall have to bring him on here and leave him and another one behind us.

                                                                    May 1891

Friday 1st.   We could not find the bay horse_"Cartridge" at the place he remained at yesterday.

  We left a little mare - "Bluey" also at Welcome Creek: the two would soon find eachother. & in ten days time will be quite fit to travel when some one goes back for them.
