Sat 4th. This morning we moved camp to the mountain plateau that we discovered yesterday. It was a stiff job for the pack horses getting up the slope of the range but they accomplished it without accident. One of the black fellows brought a curious milk plant into camp.
After a hasty lunch I and two others rode out to try and discover a route down the Western slope of the range. We clamber-ed down many gorges, and followed numerous lays of level creek frontages for miles only
