Very early, at 8.30pm already, we retired to our cabins. I was sharing with Franzen and Volgen, the latter unfortunately also a bit seasick, and slept better than I had in a long time. The next morning we found ourselves keeping fairly close to the shore until, around 9am, we drew level with what would be our next home.
There sitting on a small peninsula was a large building with a roof of red grooved tiles which was our prison. Behind it several 4-5000 ft high hills, and the whole landscape quite picturesque. The ‘’Yugilbar’’ circumnavigated the peninsula and entered Trial Bay, where we dropped anchor and let our future commander, Lt. Eaton, approach by launch, which was to pick up the cooks and some gentlemen from the committee and deposit them directly on shore.
