I have considered my position in every way, and feel that kindly though the proffered assistance be, it is actually of little use to me, my object in asking for your guarantee at the Commercial Bank for £500 was not to incur fresh expenses or to spend recklessly, but simply that I might concentrate what I owe into one channel and leave enough to pay ready money for all expenses which is an immense saving. It has been owing to the uncertainty & unpunctuality of my income that I have had any debts at all!
