My dearest Elizabeth

We were so rejoiced ot receive your dear letters on the 13th (three days before the mail is due) and to hear that you were all well, and that you had none of you suffered so much from the severe cold of the winter as we feared you might have done.

As I did not write to you last month, I suppose you expect a double amount of gossip but I fear I must put you off with only half the usual quantity. I find I must
