day, the 6th March about 4.30 pm for Marseilles. I was able to go to Marseilles & Lyons on the strength of my leave extension at Nice. Otherwise being a divisional headquarters man I would not have risked overstaying a leave pass.

I had to sit in the car passage most of the way to Lyons for giving my seat to a lady, & arrived there about 7.30 am. I went to the American YMCA again & had a clean up and some breakfast & joined a party of them going a round of sightseeing.
I reached Marseilles after 10 pm & after some bread & coffee supper
