strange to say is the Cemetery. This lies about two miles out of the city & covers a large area rising from flat ground to the side of a steep hill. The Protestant & Jewish sections are insignificant. Of the graves of the section, those of persons of importance were in monumental vaults built on the hillside. Others were in vaults in the galleries..The galleries are handsome stone buildings built like corridors in a very artistic colonnaded style. Many of the monuments in this, in fact very many, are sculptures of great beauty
