thus completing a round trip, nowhere travelling on the same line twice except between Rome & Naples.
I caught the train about 9 pm from Rome for Genoa & arrived there next morning after another all-night run of 12 hours. Towards Genoa the train trip is rather pretty as the line hugs the shore of the Mediterranean. About 7 am we passed Pisa with its cathedral & leaning tower so well known, & which is said to be visible from the train, but I was dosing when we passed & missed my opportunity if it can be seen. Of course I was sorry for that
