for payments were in order before sending it on to the Auditor, A.I.F., London. The same applied to the canteen accounts but these were often incorrectly made up owing to lack of knowledge of a little book keeping. It was mainly the canteen profits which supplied the money for the regimental funds.
The Brigade headquarters ran Pierrôt Troupes, & the Division had a bulk canteen for supplying the unit canteens with goods from the big B.E.F. Canteen & other sources at a margin of profit supposed to be equal to a cash discount, also a cinema and a divisional entertainment troupe.
