At Genoa I had from about 10 am till 4 pm to spend - hardly sufficient even for a hurried visit such as mine was.
Genoa, of course is a very large port, the most important, I believe of Italy, being the port of Turin & Milan.  It is of course well known as the birth place of C. Columbus, & a house is still shown as his birth place but I did not see it.  By the railway station there is a fine statue in his honor.  There is also  a museum of objects of associated interest but I did not know of it at the time.
The port is rather interesting & the sea front rather fine
