ones are: The Palatine Hill with the Palaces of the Caesars etc, the Mammertine Prison under the Capitoline Hill, & the famous Loggia statues by Michaelangelo and the frescoes by Raphael in the Vatican Palace. I was sorry not to see these but it could not be helped. On the other hand I spent some considerable time walking the streets & by-streets to see a bit of the life of the city & also looking in the shops, where there was much of interest to a stranger. The main streets & corsos of Rome are fine, but the streets diminish in width & length in less frequented corners
