The Umberto Gallery or Arcade is one of the finest in the world & is reckoned as the centre of Milan.
Here in Milan I was fortunate to make the acquaintanceship of a French gentleman (M. Dautreme of [indecipherable]) stationed in Milan on an economic mission.
He did not know much about economics but he showed me the city in a most educating way.
The same evening, that is on the 18th February I caught the train to , an important railway station
