Mr Mangle's sermon May 7 1837
Ps 46.7 The Lord of Hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.
------------
I call your attention , dear friends, to this beautiful portion of Scripture to show you the refuge & strength wh. God is to his peoples. They have his wisdom, his power, his omnipotence, his omniscience for their guidance & protection
I wish to call yr attention to see what the Lord is & what man is and in the language of the prophet Is 58,1 to cry aloud & spare not lift up thy voice like a trumpet & show my people their transgressions & the house of Jacob their sins. Tho' they may cry out prophesy [indecipherable] things unto us, let their voice be like the sweet melodious voice of the Eolian Harp that changes with the wind. & lulls with softness & sweet sounds into a sleep of ease & security But the danger of man is great, his Eternal all depends on being aroused
