to be back at home again. My father was very fairly well, as he can keep himself occupied, with various business, & has not time to think on his grief. It has been a sad sad time for us all, but the worst is over now, & when I return I hope to find all quite well again.

Gerard, Sib, Papa & Mama had their portraits done for you in Paris but I did not see them. I think it a great shame that you should not have one of me too, & if possible I shall get one done tomorrow & send it with this letter. You will understand that the moustache is not worn in England. It is no use writing news from this place, as Wood is going from here in a sailing ship and will not arrive for at least four months and a half, & I know Mother
