that I hope her life will not be too prolonged as I suffer the pain that this complaint sometimes entails.  She had a good deal of lumbago which she said prevented her getting out of her chair or walking with cane - but I fear it was weakness which the doctor says is the consequence of her ailment - She said, if I could get rid of this lumbago, I then should do for I have no pain in the left breast & arm where this ailment is, & there is at present no sore.  Sometimes there is not much suffering when people are as old as she is. She has also dropsy which I think may end her life any day, for she has fits of breathlessness, however the dropsy the Dr. told me is better, but still she has it.  Then she has been very anxious about her daughter Mary, who has had congestion of the lungs
