he rides a low pony constantly with a boy by his side to open gates & he never goes out of a walk - then we often have a few to dinner & he talks & enjoys having them more than being alone with Mary & me -
I have been made very sorry since beginning my letter, byut suddenly having a few lines from Nell to tell me that Susie has had a still born little girl - She expected it in January, & has been so very well, that she has overtired herself I fear, & this has come on quite unexpectedly - poor dear, I am sure she has been much disappointed as she longed for a little girl very much - to a Mother such a sorrow is great & I really grieve for her, of course to others the loss is nothing & it seems little - however it is so far better than the loss of a child that has lived even for a short time - my anxiety
