Dear Madam
Your letter fo the 8th Inst to hand with thanks. I purpose (D.V.) shortly sending you another setting I could send another Variety but I think you will find Brahmas a very hardy & good breed. The Chickens I find more easily reared (especially at this time of the year) than even Common Sorts. My experience teaches me that those Chickens which feather quickly are the most difficult to rear hence the reason that Brahmas & Cockers are so hardy. At the beginning of this Season nearly two hundred of my Chickens died when I engaged another man to attend to the fowls since then I am thankful to say very few have been lost. Including Young Ducks & Goslings I think now we have about four hundred running
