At the end of a week we asked for our account at the Hotel & to our surprise we found we had only 5s/ a day each to pay for breakfast luncheon dinner, tea - Julia 15/ for the whole week & for 5 apartments £3, Servants 10/-.  We then started for Kendal - endeavoured to see Mrs Forrest, but missed her by an hour. The Forrest family are farmers. I thought I was speaking to the servant, & found to my dismay it was the mistress of the house. Troutbeck where they live is in a beautiful valley at the head of Windermere, & in the very countrified little Churchyard, our old friend Mr Forrest is buried - a head stone simply inscribed with his name & his long residence in NS Wales as head master of K [Kings] School Parramatta. I wrote to Mrs Forrest & had an answer from her - I have it
