Other than that, not much happened worth mentioning. Life takes its usual course and the only, but very agreeable, diversion is the mail from Germany, which thank God is
now arriving fairly regularly. The news is good, all’s well, and so I don’t want to complain
but be content.
6/12/1915. The reserve officers, namely our former “friends” from Singapore who recently arrived, seem to spoil for a fight here, too. It seems they’re not happy with their living arrangements here because they have asked the Commander to give them some of our cells in the main building. When he refused, they appealed to Sands in Liverpool.
Such wonderful comradeship! Of course there are a few reasonable ones among them
