Mary her daughter has made her have her grandson Jack to stay there & he is very fond of his grandmother & is to prepare for Oxford under a master at Shrewsbury twice a week & do his work at Middle - he is 18 & a very good boy - George says Moll Coddly [Mollycoddle?] with regard to games & boyish sports - but he suits Middle the better & George is very fond of him & so is Mary - he cheers her a little - fortunately she is very fond of reading so George takes her in the garden chair & she sits in the garden with her book & settles about her rock work [indecipherable] about her flower beds I hope.
Unfortunately my dear old George will not let me leave him for a few days, or I would go to Middle every now & then to see dear Mary & talk to her - I must go again, & he must go with me if he will not let me go alone. Mary has no one that she can have
