experimentalists who had come from Warnambool to astonish the natives with what he called oil of violets the perfume of which was concealed in his rancid oil. Still it was a beginning & I pointed out to him how he could obtain the perfume of violets in future - and I told him that if the N.S.Wales Government would afford me certain privileges I would soon be in the field as a competitor with him.
