My dear Mamma

Thank you very much indeed for your letter received yesterday, we have been thinking a fair deal about you & longing to hear something of you so I was very glad to get your nice long letter when you have so much to do & think of. We were truly glad to hear a more cheering account of Mrs Stone[?] & trust she may continue better. What a wretched day you have for leaving London at least we have snow on the ground here - I think the sea did us all good & Mamma is very well now which rewards us for our most disagreeable fortnight at Rhyl.

gaieties which Annie says she must tell you about so I am only to have one page to leave room for Mamma. I need not tell you how anxious we shall be to hear of your safe arrival after I hope & trust a prosperous voyage. If you should meet a vessel homeward bound & have time to write we shall hear of you from either of your Sisters. I hope we may go to Edinburgh this winter I should like it so much - Goodbye my dearest Emily I can tell you nothing but how much I hope you may be very happy. I hope you will write to us when you settle in your new home believe me always w[ith] kind regards to Mr. Macarthur
