& I fear it is the best judge of the two. I know no one who would be more universally lamented so the loss to her sister will be quite irreparable. I cannot contemplate her future lot without the greatest compassion, in that great house wh has been such a joint interest & to be left alone to finish it - I hear not very much of the Willards yet, their visit will help pass away more rapidly than a letter & I fear will be rendered less agreeable by a bad season, wh. at present it seems inclined to be
