time of poor Elizabeth's death that Messengers could with difficulty make their way either to Camden or Lyndhurst & it was two days before James and Willliam could be with their Mother & Sister. It has indeed been a time of distress. We hope Mrs Macarthur will go to Lyndhurst early next week & after being there for a time that she will return to Camden this however is not decided upon.

Goodbye dear Mr Thompson. James unites with me in every kind wish & believe me.

You sincere friend
Emily Macarthur
