My dear Mother
This scouting is a few boys joining together to teach themselves scouting so that in time of war they could go a scouts. Bader Powel has got the whole thing up and he writes books on it. Aunt Katie and Bertha went for a swim down the Spip yesterday. I have got two very tame pigeons. I went up to the Bazaar in Mosman Town Hall last night. The examinations the boys scouts can pass, you have to be able to tie all the scout knots, ride or walk 15 miles by yourself and you must take over 15 minits to do a mile scouts pace. I came 4th in the English exam, and 6th in the Arithmetic. Aunt Katie took me to the 'Merchant of Venice' and it was lovely, we did not get home till 12 o'clock. I have often read it and Aunt Katie read it to me just before she took me. Aunt Katie said to give everybody her love. Please give my love to Father and Hal with much love to yourself
Your loving son
Rob
