Aunt Katie got your letter card today. I hope the Dr can cure Freddie's deafness. We did not wear black bands for the late King [Edward VII] but Aunt Katie got some purple and black which we wore ino our button holes, the proper thing. Sydney is looking very nice all draped with purple and black and patches of white amongst it. Look at this sheet of paper. Katie said she would give me a writing pad and today I found a box on my table which contaned a blook [book] which opens at the side and unruled paper and a thick piece of parer [paper] with hard lines on it which you lay under your paper and it shows you the lines. Theres also were four packets each containing 40 envelopes. I went to school today and this afternoon I went to Dr Cordeaux. Tomorrow being empire day we get a half holiday but I am going to spend some of it at the dentist. Aunt Katie is at a big tea meeting in town
