My dear Father
When I got into Mudgee I told Mr Daly that I was coming to tea and he told me it would be ready at six o'clock so I sent that postcard and walked about the streets and met Mr Chris Heath riding the colt who is quite [quiet] now and then went to the hotel at five minits past six and had to wait till ten past before I could get some tough beef and when I had finished I looked at the clock in the bar and found it was twenty severn minits to severn. I ran all the way to the station and got there at twenty minits to severn.  I got into a second class smoker and had a good journey to Wang. [Wallerawang]. Here ten navies got in some of them very drunk and I had a horrible time to the top of the Zig Zag. I was very sorry you were not back from the lease in time to say good bye again. I have been round to Cousin Lucy and told her all about home.

Good bye Father I wish I was helping you.
From your loving son
Rob Wilson
