Dear Mary
Rob's letter is unfinished but I had better send it. Mrs Hungerford is better today-  She is not allowed to walk from one room to another as her heart is weak. I hope Chris is better- if he is very bad the best thing is to come down to the sea side. He can spend his day at Manly or The Spit or on the Ferries!. Though this neighbourhood is free from pollen. Do you remember that instant and permanent relief dear Father always got when he went on the water.

Love to all

Tell Hal that the sweet peas (white) seeds he gave me in a match box (more than a year ago, I think) are growing well. I kept them till I should have a garden of my own. My cooking is a great success. If ever you have to do your own cooking, you ought to get one - but even with a maid it would help enormously, it saves time and anxiety and preserves your saucepans !!! & there is no need for keeping up your fires those hot days. Bertha prepares the dinner in the morning & it is hot for 6 o'clock dinner. Even the boiled fish was beautifully cooked.
