[Page 178]

But she got a lovely knock, just when all the spectators arrived she played rottonly [rottenly] and me marvelously and we  bet them 6 to 1. She did not like it a little bit. 'I played on my harp the while', I do wish those military epople would reply to that letter. Sam is worrying very much whether he ought to go if he does he will have to sell the garage and that puts a lid on his getting married. I hope father got a big price for the sheep, he would miss Lassie very much taking them in. Sheep are a fearful price here 25/- for fat who off shears on the place or 35/- now. I heard one man complain that he did not know what to ask for his sheep because whatever price he put on them, they were always snapped at. Do you think it would cost too much to post my flute up to me? I would get it next Saturday. I could write pages more but I dont think I will have time. Please do not look at the spelling or wording in this letter I just stuck down whatever came into my head.

I will have to buy a working shirt & a pair of pyjamas in Nyngan as I am staying here so long. I do wish I had a decent pair of pants these best ones of mine look most fearfully bagified breaches
