My Dear Mother
I had a fairly good trip down. I met a man named Mr Alfred Stephen at Daly's who knew Father very well. He is a cousin or nephew of Mr M. He wanted to go out and see Father on Staurday but he had not time He gave me a cup of coffee at Wallerawang and this morning he took me in his cab with him to his place near Fort st school and then paid the driver to take me down to the quay. Dr Nicholl was out last night so I had my tea at the Hotel. Mrs Hungerford is a little better to day. Aunt Katie has got six hens and one cock. It is very hot, it is 95 in the shade. Aunt Katie has got the place looking looking very nice and we had lettuce, cress, and radishes out of our secion for breakfast. Nobody met me this morning so I left my basket at the wharf and got it after breakfast. I had to wait 40 minits at Circulal Quay before the boat started to run. If Father cannot find any work to do he better come down and take a job as gardenar hear. Did you get back from the coach alright. Please give my love to Father, Hal and Cousin Lucy and Freddie with much love to your self your loving son
