My dear Mother,
Who are you asking up for the Christmas holidays? Could I ask Charlie up for ten days after Christmas?
We went down to our camping ground with the Wallaroos yesterday, we had a very good day. The two
corporals were sent out with notes and we had to get into the camp without being caught and deliver the notes. The boys were all round the tent about 100 yards away from it. We went away about a mile then we followed a road down to a ridge of rocks, the others thought we should go through the bush and they trided to cut us off but we got round them, then we followed a ridge of rocks round, keeping just below them, for about a mile, then we climbed up the rocks just below the tent and ran into the gard tent and delivered the notes.
