Still plenty of shells. This certainly is some push. The wounded are constantly passing, it is the worst side of the life here seeing them going along but you never hear a sound from them.

Mac & I are bunking under a German ammunition limber. During the night last night they put shrapnel over us & got 8 hits on it, one came right through & only for hitting the rim of the wheel would have got me in the head.

The Germans dig fine dugouts. One near me is 12 ft deep with glass doors, stove, telephone, four poster beds with spring mattresses & electric lights. In fact every luxury that you could wish for. Anyhow our boys have them now & thank Mr Hun very much for being so kind as to dig them for us.
