[Friday 2 June]

A very quiet day as far as shelling was concerned though they lobbed a few over in the afternoon.

I went to have a hot baith in Erquinghem (so long since I've had one that I couldn't even spell it right)

After the bath we went & celebrated, this being our last night before going into the trenches & you never know but that when you come out again it will be feet first.

We all got gloriously merry & had a concert in the barn till one of the officers came & told us in no uncertain voice to "cut it out" & go to bed. So we went.
