No rest for the weary. Up to the trenches again today.
We have to go to Emma [?] post We left the billet at about 2 p m & arrived there shortly after 3 pm It is a rotton post as there is not a parapet in the whole place that will stop a shell.
As per usual there is to be a bombardment tonight. All the time we were out there has only been one & we strike one the first night in.
The bombardment came all right but Emma [?] post did not get hit. It was just as well as the best cover I could find was a dugout with only 3 rows of sandbags on top.
The fun started at about midnight & lasted half an hour. They sent some nice shrapnel back at us but did very little damage, though the whole ground was rocking like a earthquake
