Wet again today. Our duckwalks are so slippery with mud & water that it almost impossible to walk on them.

I went to  see the doctor this morning but couldn't find him. I got nice & wet instead & missed my dinner. I had another try in the afternoon with no better success only that I took jolly good care not to miss my tea.

When I went on guard it was raining steadily & I was wet through when I came off. Tonight the Germans seem to be extra nervous, they sent up over 500 flares in the hour on a front of about 2 miles. They send up large numbers every night while our chaps never show any. They must expect us to rush them & I think we shall before very long.
