My dear Father
I got a lovely tomahawk at Nock and Kirby for 2s and 6d. We got the box of fruit this evening they are lovely Aunt Min is just looking at it. Last Saturday week we went down to Balmoral with the troop and had a sham fight. The Dingoes and the Wallaroos played other 2 patrols, the others beat us in defence and attacking. Last Saturday we had despatch running between the Spit and Manly. 2 boys had to take letters to a certain place which we had to guard one boy was caught but the other got through. After we had finished scouting I walked on into Manly and stayed the night with Charely and on Sunday I had 3 swims in the surf. Mrs. Rayment asked me to go down the Friday after next straight after school and do my home lessons down there and go to school from there on Monday morning. There a drill sargent comes up every Friday night and dirlls us and teaches semaphore? The "DINGOES" are going to pass their 2nd class examination in a few days. I was up playing cricket with the 2nds. this after noon. Please tell Hal and Freddie to look at their silk worms eggs. Please give my love to Mother and Hal and Fred.

Your loving Son
Rob.
